Flag Football (Coed & Girl's)
Coed Flag Football (Ages 5-8)
The Prairie Ridge Jr. Wolves Flag Football Program offers a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to develop their football skills in a supportive and structured environment. This program focuses on teaching basic skills, terminology, and position play to prepare athletes for a smooth transition to the Jr. Wolves Tackle Program.
Program Highlights

- Age cutoff date: September 1st
- Season Dates
- Games: Every Saturday from late August to late October. (Possibility of Sunday games)
- Practices: Start late July and take place and Prairie Grove Elementary.(3223 Illinois Route 176, Prairie Grove, IL 60014)
- Practice Frequency: 5/6 level 1-2 days per week for 1-1.5 hours. 7/8 level 2-3 days per week for 1.0-1.5 hours.
- Home Games: Played at Jr. Wolves game field at Prairie Ridge High School

- Uniforms and Equipment
- Included: Game jersey and flags.
- Required: Mouth guards for all practices and games. (Not included in registration

- IMPORTANT: We practice in the rain and cold weather, so please dress your athlete accordingly. If there is lightening or excessive heat, practice will be cancelled.
Player Development Focus:
- Learning offensive and defensive techniques and positions.
- Learning the rules and basic strategies of football.
- Start the foundation of doing things the “Wolf Way”. Becoming a good team member, learning good sportsmanship, being coachable and putting forth good effort.
Girl's Flag Football (Ages 9-13)
Last year's PR Jr. Wolves inaugural all girls flag football season was a tremendous success. Our program is looking to build upon that success with another great season going into year two. For the 2026 season we are looking to join the Northern Lakes Flag Football League, which is ran through Johnsburg. (Please see more details below) The league will be for girls ages 9-13, those who are younger are welcome and strongly encouraged to join our existing coed league for ages 5/6 & 7/8. Age divisions for the girl’s league are pending depending on registration numbers. You DO NOT need to live within Prairie Ridge High School boundaries to play in our flag football leagues. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!

- Games: Targeted for Sunday morning but some dates could vary. We may try to line up some practice games as well. We'll be sure to communicate ASAP.
- Season: Practices will start in August. Season games will take place late August to late November/Early November
